Pros

Benefits of working at hotel as a bartender are nice since we get health insurance and such, hotel discount is spotty based on how busy the hotel you want to go to is, but depending on where you want to go you usually have a 70% chance of getting the discount you can get a discount at a Hilton property for around 45$ dollars a night.

Cons

Some downsides is that not all the times is corporate very well mannered towards their employees

Pros

Good benefits, good pay, promotions possible. People I worked with were wonderful. The hotel brands are all excellent.

Cons

After working with the newer added brands, Hampton Inns, Embassy Suites, Homewood Suites for over 35 years, I retired. I got a goodbye lunch! A lifetime discount at the hotels would have been nice.

Pros

One of the main reasons I've stayed with Hilton as long as I have (>20 years) is the flexibility I've been afforded. I've been able to work from home full-time since 1999, and have flexed my hours a number of times as we started having children; our schedule would change every two years or so, and my boss was willing to work with me on solutions. The other main reason I love it here is the people. I'm sure it's related to being in the hospitality industry, but everyone is simply very nice and eager to serve (as opposed to always wanting to be served). The relationships I've formed here are genuine and meaningful.

Cons

Although it's a positive that expectations are high, the work load can be quite heavy and even overwhelming at times. I don't like to let people down, so that has been my greatest challenge for the past few years.
