Pros

The cafeteria is amazing, great professional development and training staff, great location, beautiful building, great benefits.

Cons

Hogan is going through a transition that will effect the assistants and smaller fish in the pond. There is a level of chaos that is brewing, and almost every department is going through extreme turnover. Ask the right questions before you interview there and tread lightly. Sometimes the pay you are offered is not worth the stress, especially if a smaller firm that can give you more financially offers you a position.

Pros

Close to the metro. Overtime pay can be nice but it is a double edged sword as you can be bullied into working overtime by superiors. Also not sure how this works but I've heard if you work a lot of overtime it will bump your paycheck into a higher tax bracket and you don't even end up benefiting financially. The office building is really nice and has received numerous awards for sustainability and efficient energy usage! The Christmas party is pretty nice. The subsidized cafeteria is pretty good but has been closed for months for renovations. There are tons of good restaurants and happy hour spots in the immediate area also.

Cons

The job is tedious and you need to learn database/workflow computer programs that are out-dated and you will probably never use again at any job in the future. Extremely deadline driven. You will often be expected to meet unreasonable deadlines. If the deadlines are not met, you will often be called in for a one on one meeting with a supervisor. Even if you meet your deadlines, it is generally stressful nonetheless to make sure they get done. Constantly busy and often pressured to work overtime on weeknights and especially the weekends. The content of the work is very boring and you often feel uneasy as the general Department mantra is "no mistakes allowed." A lot of printing documents to pdf and attaching them to online workflow programs.

Pros

Non-manager and below = cool, fun, motivated, and very smart group; cafeteria is easily accessible, but it will make you fat and you don't have time to eat there anyway; location is great; they used to have happy hours but don't anymore; the 401k is amazing.

Cons

The salary and raises are abysmal; the work is repetitive and tiresome; the lawyers think they're all better than marketing, even with equivalent education from top schools (just MBA, not law); management treats you like dirt; they slowly started taking away the perks; you're meant to believe attributes about yourself that aren't true; over 50+ U.S. marketing people have been there for less than 5 years (all seeking meaningful employment elsewhere).
