Pros

Good people to work with on the lines Good bonuses

Cons

Management is awful. If you’re not a “yes man” or you voice your opinion you’ll get ignored by the department manager. The supervisor on my shift was a ghost the majority of the time and refused to help out on the line even when staff levels were low. Quality issues were constantly brushed under the carpet. The HR department are bias towards the management team so it’s pointless reporting any of your concerns to them. It’s a shame I’m writing this negative review about this company as it has the potential to be a great place to work. It won’t reach that point unless there’s some serious investigations into the department. Otherwise, more and more good workers will leave the business.

Pros

Small, friendly and cosy in appearance. Everyone knows one another. Small company trying hard to provide a big company feel. Lean management techniques taught and continuous improvement encouraged. Is current with its use of AGILE which is a skill in itself. Training available.

Cons

Management was poor, no people skills whatsoever. Pay was absolutely abysmal. No chance of any share offers in the company despite being told we were doing well. The truth was that the company lost business in China. How can any company lose business in China in this day and age is beyond me. Lots of key people have left and keep leaving. Training wasn't great for a company this size. If you were there for one year, it was considered long-term. Go figure on that one.

Pros

I’d say current employee, however it’s soon to be former

Cons

The company has long claimed a “philosophy that mass layoffs are a failure of leadership” Ironically, recent actions suggest it may have been proving that statement itself. For those of us still here, it’s a stark reminder that no one is truly valued, and that loyalty and effort mean little when priorities are set elsewhere. An already generous purchase offer of the company was initially rejected. Then the Manchester site was abruptly closed, with comfort and compassion closely resembling a boardroom PowerPoint presentation or Tier 3 meeting, leaving colleagues facing the uncertainty of Christmas without a job. Almost immediately afterward, the company accepted an even larger offer, a timing that speaks louder than any carefully worded statement. Profit was preserved; people were expendable. They destroyed the livelihoods of people who were doing everything right. People paying bills, raising families, and holding their lives together with hard work and loyalty. And the worst part? This from a company that never stops preaching that ‘people matter.’ Clearly, they don’t. It’s likely the execs didn’t even lose their bonuses while everyone else absorbed the damage Predictably, any response to criticism will likely be a wall of generic corporate jargon, or nothing at all. Addressing the human cost would require honesty and accountability, neither of which seems to have featured in this process. The message is unmistakable: profit comes first, staff are disposable, and anyone who remains is reminded daily how little that truly matters.
