Cons

HomeGoods is a very stressful place to work management is lazy sit in the office the majority of the time don't help out enough on the floor stores are always Junkie coordinators work very hard to try and get things done but can't because they're always ringing because there's not enough cashiers women are mainly doing all the bulk of the work during Carrie Ann's and carry outs of heavy furniture and rugs getting down heavy rugs majority of the men that work at the store work in the back processing the truck but no men on the floor to help out with the heavy heavier stuff Never Enough payroll for staff especially cashiers coordinators have to have open availability and always expected to change their schedule after it's been made so they can be there all the time working can't get any overtime but expected to be there all the time day and night management and corporate people don't have enough respect for their staff or their coordinators give more respect to the coordinators ability and knowledge other things how to run things around the storeand share some of the profits that the company makes with the staff especially the coordinators at least offer us a gift card or something during the Christmas season like a $50 or $100 gift card to show your thankfulness

Pros

Great concept. Love the constant flow of new merchandise. Great retail environment in that the focus is on getting product to the floor, presenting it well and selling it. Pressure to open TJX credit cards is overwhelming sometimes. Love their commitment to charities such as "The Jimmy Fund" and " St Jude's." But they even manage to make that into a competitive negative environment.

Cons

Politics are crazy! Managers are pitted against each other. Lots of confusion. Store manager changes mind every 5 seconds which prevents things from getting done. Store Manager talks down to other managers and associates and belittles them. I have never worked anywhere where management literally brings associates to tears on the sales floor. Expect to have to train yourself. Lots of gossip. Pressure to get things done is intense and really causes a negative environment in the store I am in.
