RUN hard and FAST

Pros

Free snacks and free lunches.

Cons

Run HARD and run FAST. Absolutely no organization. This company claims to be different than the industry competitors but they are IDENTICAL. Leadership has an elitist attitude and speaks incredibly disrespectful to those under them. There is zero work life balance, you will be contacted at all hours of the night and on the weekend. There is no performance reviews and no rhyme or reason to promotions. People who treat others like dogs will get promoted while kind hardworking people will be exploited.

Honor is able to delivery such a high quality service because of the dedication and mission orientation of its employees. A quality we specifically hire for is empathy and compassion, as those are traits critical to helping our clients and Care Pros. It's disappointing to hear that you've had a negative experience with the company and the team. We've been working really hard to make work structure improvements and have implemented more extensive manager training, a formal performance review process, and more feedback channels for folks to speak their minds. Most folks we've talked to have not had similar experiences so I really encourage you to use the internal feedback tools or talk to any leader in the company (doesn't have to be your own team) to express how we can further improve!

Pros

1. There are some of the most hard-working and amazing people working here. I've made some amazing friendships during my tenure and I am truly grateful for that. 2. Unlimited PTO

Cons

My experience at Honor has been quite a traumatic one to say the least and here is why: 1. Lack of effective management + gaslighting of its people: Since working at Honor, I have had 4 managers and I can tell you the last manager I had was by far the biggest let down. This manager presented themselves in a way where they were supportive and genuinely cared about your growth. This was a complete lie and tactic to manipulate one into believing that they had your best interest at heart. All the right things were said at the right time but as soon as you did something that rubbed this manager the wrong way, there was already a plan to exit you out. 2. Lack of support and feeling devalued every day: Like many of us, COVID impacted me in ways I couldn't imagine. At the height of the pandemic, I was working 10-12 hour days and I still felt like I couldn't keep up. People on my team were feeling the same way. When I opened up to my manager about this, it felt supportive in the beginning but it really wasn't. I was treated differently when I started making a few mistakes in my work because I was depressed and scattered, no real support was given to me. I was expected to keep working without expectations being clear as if I was some kind mind reader. When I would ask questions, I was asking too many of them. I became too much work when I asked for feedback and how I could be successful here. I never felt valued working here and I was constantly questioning my self-worth. 3. No work life balance: As mentioned above, I was working myself to the ground to the point of where I was also questioning my own sanity. My anxiety was through the roof and I had such a hard time concentrating. As anyone could understand, this affected all aspects of my life and it was a scary time for me yet there was no support. 4. Favoritism by management: It was so clear who leaders favor and who they do not. If you were lucky enough to be favorited in my department, you have a better chance of a future here but again, as soon as you do something that they see as a "problem", you will fail here and nothing you do will be enough. The last thing I will say here is that the only priority the leaders have is to scale even if it at the expense of their employees well-being. The CEO has made the message clear that we are now largest home care business in the world after this acquisition with home instead. I get it and scaling is the only way to keep the business moving, but sadly it has just cost them a lot of amazing people and they don't seem to care. People that stick it out at Honor continue to be overworked and I know they share the same sentiment as I.

We’re sorry to read about your experience. Striking work/life balance is a constant challenge, for individuals and companies, alike. And the truth is, there will be occasions when we’re putting in extra hours to meet an important deadline or cover a staffing shortage. But it shouldn’t always be like that. To that end, we’ve been hiring more people and implementing managerial training to help leaders lead in a way that better integrates their teams’ personal time. We have also always offered paid time off to all of our employees. We can’t expect our employees to give us their best if they don’t have the time they need to rest and recharge. So getting the work/life balance right is important to us as a company and to our fellow employees. Additionally, no matter where we are in our career, appreciation is important to all of us. At Honor, we see how much of themselves our employees put into their work. And the quality of that work humbles us. We make it a point to show our appreciation in a number of ways. For example, we have a Shoutouts channel on Slack so leaders and coworkers can publicly share kudos to each other with the entire company. We’ve also provided appreciation bonuses for our field ops team in recognition of their COVID response. And we offer competitive salaries and equity in the company to all of our employees. We wish you all the best and all the appreciation you deserve in your future work.
