Pros

pros are you get to see kids grow and get to make a positive impact on their lives you meet amazing people who have the kindest souls also it’s in facility care so bcbas are there 24/7 for your support provide you with uniform shirts

Cons

- not equal treatment - they are only “allowed” to downstaff(or send you home) once a week but will do it more(therefore making you not full time) - they might ask you to commit fraud and lie on session notes(for insurance) to benefit them or cover their mistakes(which puts you at legal risk) - management has talked horribly about rbts and bcbas in front of other rbts and bcbas - ^ which this adds to the extreme drama problem. this job is about helping kids, but there is constantly drama and people speaking horribly about one another. weekly meetings include management just talking about the drama problems, while they are the ones contributing or starting them - if they don’t like you or you threaten them with morals i’ve seen multiple people get bullied out of their jobs - lack of communication - horrible with handling the pandemic - the company seems to care more about the money than the kids - only one 15 minute break during a 8-9 hour shift to eat

Pros

When I started at Hopebridge pre-COVID I loved it. It was at that time the best clinic in Bloomington. The Speech and Occupational therapists are incredible. One BCBA there is incredibly knowledgeable, ethical and has a ton of experience. She has a lot to teach you and does well teaching staff.

Cons

Since COVID, things have gone downhill and fast. There is no consistency in the schedule, and you might think that is due to COVID, but multiple therapists were pulled off their kids with no explanation. Staff are not taking COVID seriously and following social distancing nor wearing masks properly. The center manager also has been lying to new staff about how many positive cases we have had. Most of the leadership team is not knowledgeable or examples of effective leadership. The center manager has many sides to her and has acted extremely unprofessional, honestly borderline hostile work environment with multiple different employees. Tons of gossip and cliche here. Leadership team gossips about each other in front of RBTs. There’s a huge group of leadership and staff that hangout and even send Snapchat’s (huge HIPPA violation) to each other during the work day. This also created an issue when they all went to a wedding and didn’t practice precautionary measures and all had to be quarantined. Staff are given special treatment for being friends with the BCBAs including getting the kids they want, getting people taken off kids, and getting more supervision hours. Supervision hours are lacking if you aren’t one of the popular staff. You have to almost beg most of the BCBAs for supervision. One BCBA has been known to break the code of ethics multiple times. Furthermore, there is a fellow there who is given more responsibility but has no idea what she is doing and has seriously messed with kids progress (you’ll know her by the tattoos). The other fellows are good, however one BCBA relies on them to do all his programming and his kids have really taken a hit since his fellow went on maternity leave. Multiple people in leadership roles have stepped down or been forced to step down by the center manager. New staff are not getting the training or supervision they need, so quality ABA therapy has gone out the window.

Pros

The work within itself is VERY rewarding, knowing that you are helping these children improve their deficits and seeing the progress that your clients make is awesome, and knowing that the progress made is because of you is even MORE rewarding.

Cons

Working under a company that is so unprofessional on the other hand was terrible. The way that Hopebridge treats their employees is unreal, it’s like a prison. There environment is very toxic at this specific clinic, there are going to be cliques anywhere you go, but the cliques are unbelievable here. If you’re not a favorite, you’re treated like you’re incompetent. Certain employees get away with things that no other employees would NEVER get away with. Not only are the employees treated poorly, they’re also underpaid for the work the employees do. There are employees there working with master’s degrees who are making much less than employees with little to no experience at all, now in what world is that fair? So if you’re thinking about applying at this clinic, please read the multiple horrendous reviews beforehand.
