IT - lots of opportunity, but don't value internal talent

Pros

401K AND pension. Big benefit improvement at AVP level and above. Many of the people are passionate about their work and want to do the right thing. Lots of opportunity available. You can create your own path.

Cons

For an insurance company, the health benefits are below average. No vacation for the first year if you are director level or below. Managers don't have time or desire to develop employees. Lots of great opportunities, but they won't 'show the money' for internal promotions. Raises once a year, but seem to be low. Seems like it's run more like a state agency.

Access to schools for leads. Great trips if you sell enough to make it. Great teaser commissions but after 3 years down to hardly anything. Good customer Service and claims office. Lots of training available.

Cons

Poor technology. Strick underwriting guidelines. Hard to sell in my area.

4 day work weeks, friendly managers, decent pay. Training is also adequate. THE COMPANY ACTUALLY CARES ABOUT ITS CLIENTS

Horrible insurance benefits. On the phone allllll day. The phone never stops.
