Pros

Incredible Culture of caring, support, values and commitment to excellence. Room to grow from entry level positions all the way to Executive level. Great benefits for the hospitality industry. Best incentive program in industry at hotel level.

Cons

It is the hospitality industry and the time commitment to run a successful hotel is difficult.

Pros

None that I am aware of.

Cons

when hotel equities bought out my hotel, they immediately fired 80% of the staff, and then for "orientation" they sent a guy named drew, who told the remaining few how easily replaceable we were and dared us to leave. He then proceeded to tell stories about his vacations for 4 hours. Everyone was just confused by the end of the meeting. that was almost 2 years ago, we still only have 3 people to work the front desk, 2 housekeepers, and currently no GM. The last time i spoke to a member from corporate, i asked how i could contact their HR and she flat out refused to give me the information. Hotel Equities makes it nearly impossible to hire someone new, and continue to work the few loyal people they have to death. We had one employee that had a mental breakdown and had to leave due to the horrible work environment provided by Hotel Equities. They never replace anything that breaks either. for the past year, my hotel, which can hold hundreds of people only has one washer and dryer for linens because we keep getting denied by hotel equities. The only time we hear from them is when they are telling us we need to be making more money. They couldn't care any less about these people that work themselves to death. ever since they showed up, no one gets raises anymore, no one gets benefits anymore, and they only pay minimum wage. sticking with a company for years means nothing to them. They dont care about the employees or guests, just the money.

It's a shame what this company has become over the years

Pros

The Revenue managers and accounting department are good to work with. They have a bonus program... Even though the sales bonus program seems a little unfair to the others when you are at a hotel where the majority of sales bring itself in and not from that department.

Cons

They will make themselves seem as if they have this all around tight knit family but it is far from the truth. It's more like high school. Favoritism is shown. The constant paperwork is absolutely ridiculous. Health benefits are pitiful. I have worked for a couple of different hotel management companies and this is by far the worst.
