Superintendent is Toxic

Pros

Like all teaching jobs teachers are usually good team players and care about the students while trying to do their jobs as best as they can.

Cons

The new superintendent F. Mike Miles has created a culture which pits principals and administrators against teachers, the evaluation system has a built in curve which will ask principals to pick and choose favorites and who they will let go at the end of the year. If they deviate from the curve the principals will be fired. 2023-24 if not already will most likely have the highest number of firings, resignations and non-renewals yet. Do not be lured by the money proposed this year, it is a terrible inefficient system to teach, but if you try to change things you can be fired over using your degree in education and common sense. Extremely toxic thanks to this new superintendent.

Avoid this district at all costs

Pros

There are no pros for working in this district

Cons

This district is very poorly ran and FILLED with unprofessional, incompetent, and toxic clowns in leadership positions from the district to the campus level. Teachers are chastised like children, treated like scum by administrator's, and psychologically abused. With the New Education System, teachers are essentially robots delivering scripted lessons with little to no autonomy in the materials or instructional strategies used and the schools are literally ran like the prison system. The work environment is mundane and extremely repetitive. The current $80,000 salary and other benefits being advertised may sound enticing but I promise you it’s not worth it. If you value your mental health and professional growth do not apply for any teaching job in this district.
