      The EVAAS rating system is a good one; it rates student improvement rather than performance.

      Cons

      Red tape, unnecessary and unhelpful requirements of teachers... it really depends on your school.

      Pros

      Teaching in general has its benefits - pay is decent, schedule is nice.

      Cons

      The district is too large to run efficiently. It is top heavy and teachers are not valued. The students are challenging and the administrators are always stressed out (due to the looming STAAR test).

      It has good benefits and the job can be rewarding, it just depends on how much of a passion you have for teaching.

      Cons

      Again, you should have a passion for teaching because there are too many requirements for very little return on salary.
