Pros

Fairly stable, plenty of smart people in the building

Cons

Political, always changing management, a lot of people care about promotions more than their job itself,

Pros

Numerous employee benefits & employee programs (eg, a monthly book club where a professional speaker and your lunch is provided), a pension, new building, Wolfgang Puck cafe on-site, wonderful people & culture and good management with deep pockets and is diversified so they should be in business for another 80 years.

Cons

Most employees are very helpful; however, you may run into some who make getting your job done more difficult. Also, managers receive very little manager training so your manager experience varies greatly (ie, there are awesome, average and bad bosses).

Lay offs and voluntary/told to retire

Pros

None as the company can’t get loans and the bonds are considered junk bonds

Cons

They had lay offs in 2007, 2016, 2019 and 2020. The sons took over in 2016 and didn’t tell the employees until 2020.
