Pros

Day rate- when you get it

Cons

You can work 60 hours plus and not get paid. Huntswood make changes to the detriment of their contractors, feedback sessions are totally ignored. This is not a happy place to work. You put up with the changes or you leave. Operations have little respect for their team leaders, taking badly to them in front of staff. Contractors are told they are not allowed to leave the building unless the team target is hit. If you like getting spoken down to and treated like you are easily disposable then this is the place. No amount of money is worth that.

Pros

Easy to get a job there

Cons

high pressure, pointless 'fabricated pressure' to his imaginary targets, high focus on quality but not in a positive way - get penalised if you fail a case and no praise if you pass a case or 1000000 cases in a row. Only

Pros

Reading is a nice city (not that I saw much of it) Great transport links so you can get out quick Lovely coffee shop across the road

Cons

Sigh! Grab a cup of tea - this might take a while. Training was terrible because the IT systems did not work. They don't supply stationery so you have to bring in your own notepad which is unethical. I have worked in banks before and you had to lock your desk and under no circumstances were you to bring any paperwork home. Targets are unrealistic. They rely on you working extra hours for no extra pay so you can hit your targets. It is frowned upon for you to leave on time and I received very bad looks from my Team Leader when I had the nerve to leave at 6pm. I was getting in at 9am and leaving at around 7pm (with a 20 minute lunch break) or later so I could hit my target. I would have stood a chance if their computer systems did not crash twice a day and take ages to reboot. When we mentioned this we were just told that is just the way it is. We were told to work harder. They had no phones so we had to use our mobiles to call the IT department who were in Scotland. Management is very poor. Rude senior management who clearly don't care about their staff. In the first month we were all dragged into a meeting where senior management reprimanded us for the sickness levels, even though a lot of people had not had any time off. Oh and we were told not to book any holidays until late September. I think even the cleaners got fed up because at times the place looked like a trash can with unwashed coffee cups in the kitchen area and overflowing bins that had not been emptied. Horrible!
