Pros

Used to pay well. Managers USED to make coin with bonus, which was incentive to run a store exceptionally well. A few good people sprinkled here and there

Cons

Egos and greed from corporate got in the way of being successful and making some good money. Too many managers are arrogant and don't always treat their "underlings" well. Back in the day When Dwight was Prez, common sense and respectability were the norm. Then, RP and his cronies changed course. Benefits have been hacked away at since. The company is a shell of its old self.

Pros

Full-time insurance is good but it's really hard to get and there are a lot of great employees you get to work with and meet

Cons

Hy-vee as a whole don't listen to their employees. Theres a lot of favoritism and you're undervalued. You get treated like you're beneath managers as a person. Promotions and discipline are based favoritism. Way underpaid. Managers won't always let you know when you've done something wrong. Communication is awful. With cutting hours they want one person to do the work of 2 or 3 in less time than it took with 1(managers and departments have this problem)  Sometimes that's impossible which is exactly why a few employees clock out and keep working. It's hard to have a life when you open some days close other days, work 10 hours this week and 40 next
