      Unfavorable working conditions with equally bad benefits and salary

      Pros

      - "Unlimited" PTO where managers will only approve up to 10-15 days - Security measures higher than defense contractor companies to protect customer assets at cost of employee working conditions - High emphasis on diversity, equity, and inclusion - Free food on certain holidays

      Cons

      - Salary and benefits are lower than comparable companies in the location; will not pay you for what you are actually worth - Will be required to be on-site for remote work (i.e, being on the computer, Teams meetings) - Upper management will shrug off any reasonable complaints - Will be asked to do "cross-functional" work or "wear multiple hats" (i.e, the work that belongs to other teams/departments)

      Pros

      You have a lot of freedom to do what you want - not too much hand holding. They have a very strong diversity&inclusion program. Unlimited vacation days. No layoffs during covid so you know it's a stable place to work.

      Cons

      Not much work, project managers are all in Taiwan and time difference is hard to deal with. Interesting projects go to the Taiwan team first and Fremont is used as overflow staff. IMO the only reason Fremont still employs engineers is so that they can tell customers that they have a US based team. The president of the company likes to track the hours people work.
