Great Place to Work

Pros

The culture at IAT is unparalleled. Owners and CEO take excellent care of employees in terms of benefits, work life balance, college loan assistance, amazing 401k match, special bonuses, large amount of PTO PLUS 3 floating holidays to take as you wish, etc. The list goes on.......

Cons

The claim systems are varied, old and antiquated. The excellent news is the recently announced migration to a cloud based system - it's a fantastic new path we are on that will really improve the claim handling experience at IAT. It's a very exciting time! Career opportunities can be limited a bit just by virtue of IAT's small size. However, I do think the company leverages every possible opportunity to provide career paths for everyone that wants one. Relative to our size, the opportunities are plentiful.

Good at First/Surface Level

Pros

401k match, very generous PTO Some upper level leaders have a very good bead on their business There are a lot of good people/minds that work at the company that really do what they can to make the place function well

Cons

After having been at the company awhile, the expectation to cover a myriad of roles/tasks that are all encompassing becomes expected. It becomes expected that you will continue to do/provide more in the same role you are in despite not being advanced. Advancement is uncommon. It is too easy for some employees to coast/not attempt understanding forcing others to pick up the slack. The culture is okay at first, then after you get in the weeds a bit more that changes some. Like all organizations, this ties to your leader.

Pros

- Manageable workload. - Bonuses throughout the year. - Good benefits. - Competent adjusters.

Cons

- Turmoil due to many people in upper management getting fired or quitting in the last 6 months. - More turnover than I’ve ever seen at a company. Both voluntary and involuntary at all levels. - Currently very disorganized due to a lack of managers. - Pay is below competitors. - You have to use many claim systems that don’t really communicate with each other. Very inefficient. They are rolling out a new claim system, but it hasn’t made things any easier. - A negative change in culture. Upper management was once transparent, but now there are major changes with little to no communication. - Processes to obtain additional authority is cumbersome. - A general sense that claims is looked down upon.
