Pros

If you start as a teller you get lesser pay than a sales but receive quarterly raises as long as you preform with at least 4 new accounts. As a sales you will be paid higher and receive sales points (about 3 per account) which amount to $7 per point, with no quarterly raises. From teller you can move up to uni 2, then to teller supervisor, then manager if positions are available. Sales, you can just move up to manager, there will not be any in between, meaning, if there is no available positions, you will not promote at all. There are yearly raises they do annually but that includes everyone. They celebrate teller appreciation and customer appreciation. There is no sales appreciation at all.

Cons

As a sales, they will require you to basically be their advertising in Oklahoma as they have no ads other than the sign outside the branches. They will expect you to drive around and walk into businesses to bring more foot traffic to the bank. You do not get paid anything extra for doing this. Your performance expectations goes up every quarter and will eventually exceed your capabilities in the branch, and they will say at the beginning that it’s okay and they will make sure you preform, then when it actually happens and you can’t reach your goal of 40+ points, they tell you to work harder. After the non tax on overtime came into effect, IBC upper management (ASM and up) will adjust your times (sometimes even inaccurately) to prevent you from receiving overtime. They will also make you leave early if you go over 39hours. IBC says they want whistleblowers but they really don’t. Upper management (ASM) will break policy and expect you to participate as well or you can face insubordinate claims. They have no problem turning debit cards off, promising gift cards to random customers for new accounts, and opening accounts for customers that aren’t even there at the bank. If any of those activities result in you getting in trouble, don’t expect higher ups to take responsibility, you are on your own here. This bank will require double the work, for half of the pay. If you still want to work here, be prepared to put aside your ethics and the belief that you’re actually helping people.
