Pros

Unfortunately this list has shrunk over the past few years, however, hiring has started up again in North America. It's almost exclusively entry- level and interns.

Cons

Decentralizing and devaluing design leadership, specially with an influx of inexperienced talent, will lead to problems sooner than executives can imagine.

Pros

There was a time that I was able to work on innovative projects and highly collaborative multidisciplinary teams. I collaborated with folks all over the globe. The people were the best part of the work.

Cons

The company seemed to constantly shift priorities. Since Ginni Rometty left, design, user experience, and design research has been increasingly devalued. Much of my work never saw the light of day. Higher ups are more concerned with sales numbers than design quality and meeting actual user needs. I had managers that didn't really seem to value work/life balance. I left in a state of complete burnout and demoralization.
