Pros

There are great people and you can get valuable experience if you seek it out.

Cons

I worked at ICF for a few years in its accounting department. There is a new CFO now so maybe it’s changed, but when I was there the treatment of minorities and particularly minority women was not good. Several black women and women of color were fired under the regime of one of the Assistant Controllers. They were blamed for many issues that really should have been attributed to a lack of competence at the leadership level. Instead of looking at the leadership and their limited abilities, many minorities were fired and blamed for issues. Again, this was under the previous CFO so hopefully things have changed? Minorities were held to standards that others were not. It was talked about by many in the department.

Pros

Some flexibility in schedule, interesting projects

Cons

No sick leave! During a pandemic, you should also change your policy on allowing employees to donate leave to other employees. If anyone gets sick, most will have to use up their entire PTO, then take leave without pay. You need to value your employees now!

We're committed to offering the best possible options for our people and will stay close to this during this unprecedented time. ICF provides Paid Time Off for all employees to use for any reason they need time off of work. Employees are also able to fund their own Reserve Bank with their excess PTO that can be used for their own or a family member’s extended illness. In order to be IRS-qualified, PTO Donation programs must follow specific guidelines for use and donation and we are currently exploring options/availability for this type of program.
