Pros

Cutting edge technology. Fun work environment.

Cons

The way they treat employees who helped grow the company. Mass layoffs. Firing for “performance” as an excuse to not have to give severance.

Toxic Workplace

Pros

Unlimited PTO, fast paced environment, diverse workforce

Cons

ICON has been the most toxic workplace I’ve ever worked at. You have people in their early 20s in Supervisor/Manager roles constantly getting promoted with no technical background or experience in construction. Nepotism is very apparent when it comes to promotions. A ton of made-up titles with overlapping responsibilities and six figure salaries make up ICON’s leadership team. Constantly overpromising and under delivering on every single project. Construction Ops leadership doesn’t seem to care about costs or project feasibility at all. If you try to speak up and share cost reduction alternatives or more feasible construction methods, they gaslight you into thinking that you have a negative attitude and you need to shift into a “whatever it takes” mindset.

Pros

Pay is high, and the people doing the real work are fun to work with.

Cons

The leadership lacks clear direction, fostering a negative work atmosphere through indirect communication, often resorting to gossip. Additionally, there's an exclusive December meeting known to all employees but accessible only to a select few. Regrettably, for women, advancement opportunities and professional credibility seem limited in this environment.
