Pros

I was a legacy PRA employee that loved PRA but the transition wasn’t too noticeable and not too much has changed at least in my group.Good CTMs and People leaders. SMAs are a valuable part of teams for in-house site management. Decent report writing systems.

Cons

Some systems are archaic-specifically the expense entry system went backwards about 15 years from what PRA used and takes twice the time. Excessive training but this might not be a con as it appears that many people need it. New CRA hires seem to be inexperienced and not knowledgeable.

Pros

Decent salary, some teams are good

Cons

HR: there is a "human" in HR. The majority of personnel are cold and not helpful when employees need support. Most HR Managers won't meet with you to discuss things and it is demotivating to say the least. Reps who were PRA try to help but it's a losing battle under Joe Cronin. They see employees as capital vs people. I've never seen a company operate like this in 20 years.

Pros

As with any large CRO, there are many different types of roles available to explore for those who like to learn different skills. Pay and benefits are decent, fairly typical of the CRO side of the industry.

Cons

The company culture needs improvement. The way in which they literally speak to one another is unkind; I've witnessed multiple people being yelled at in team meetings for things that should have been taken off line/privately. Voicing new ideas or strategies to improve is often shut down in favor of continuing with the status-quo, particularly if you are speaking to a leader who has been at ICON for a while.
