The students are really the best part of this experience because the staff is a mess
Pros
Love the concept. The values are great and can be applied to inspire the kids. Like the uniforms.
Cons
I constantly see basically all of the teachers screaming all of the time. This creates a culture where students won't respect you unless you disrespect them and scream excessively like their real teachers, rather than asserting their authority in a respectable manner that fosters reciprocation. Some of the leaders I have communicated with are very threatening and basically just rude. The attitudes of staff probably influence the poor attitudes of the children. Curriculum is pretty easy which makes kids bored, gives them opportunities to veer off of task, and just doesn't challenge them. Staff think they can tell you what to do/not to do even though they are technically at the same level as you and you are hired by totally different people who already instructed you on their policies and sometimes tell you otherwise. Sometimes I have a 15 min lunch because teachers want me to do their jobs and watch their students while they run errands. I get pid less than ten dollars an hour with no benefits for 9 hours and get a 15 min lunch? That's bogus.
