Pros
My students. They make everything worth while. The only reason I stay or stayed is because of them. They are sweet and wonderful.
Cons
Where to begin... Under paid and over worked. Which is disgusting as the school makes over $100 million dollars per year. But, they don't have the money some how to pay their teachers or support staff? The curriculum is terrible. Scripted teaching is dreadful. It lacks creativity and adapting to students learning needs. Every student has different learning styles. Sounding like a robot reading a pre made script to teach is BORING. It's boring for us kids, and it's boring for us Teachers!! Also, the curriculum does not match with the students level! They just bunch kids into a class, and hope for the best. Currently, I have 41 students in my Homeroom class.... How are we supposed to handle this with Covid-19? What about when we go back to school? Clearly, they have NO/ZERO logical plan. There goal is clearly to just get as many students enrolled for the money. Plain and simple! This company says it's about the education for the student. LIES. If it was about the education and better opportunities than they should provide MORE resources to those students who need it. 1 laptop per family is AWFUL. The school can 100% afford laptops for ALL students. They are just to cheap to give them out. I have parents complaining 24/7 how unorganized virtual learning has become. I have parents upset that they don't have the resources they need. I am upset making only $26,777.00 each year, while having responsibilites as a Lead Teacher... I am doing ALL of the same work but, they can't "pay" me more. On top of that, they expect me to work on my "off hours" to contact parents. UM NO. I DO NOT WORK FOR FREE. The fact they even ASKED me to do this was completely unacceptable. I am not working through my lunch. I am not working after I clocked out. If you want me to work more than I need to, then PAY ME FOR IT.
