Pros

Some very good people and even a handful of very good middle managers. Work hours are reasonable if you work in the right department. Some get free cowboys boots.

Cons

Shameless self-promoters fast tracked for promotion and recognition. Poor, destructive employees retained and promoted, good employees quit, often to less paying jobs just to escape. No peer reviews to filter out above. Obscene non-compete agreement strangles career opportunities for individual contributors. Long standing employees fired and then told to sign 1 year non-compete or not receive severance pittance. Executive management does not walk the talk. Executive hypocrisy - 2% cap on raises across the board, while CEO buys new GulfStream jet and uses it for personal trips. No golden parachutes for individual contributors. And on and on ... more to come in comments section.

Pros

Steady paycheck Good health insurance Employee Gym Cafeteria

Cons

The manager/supervisors in my department are clueless on how to motivate and engage their employees. Instead of admitting it and trying to change the situation they blame the employees. The supervisors lack the basic knowledge needed to support their staff and often make huge mistakes, making the staff jump through hoops to fix their poor decisions. They are however very good at cruising the hallways and documenting who isn't at their desks. It is my understanding that this type of "leadership" is rampant throughout the company, which explains the large turnover. I am sure the CEO has encouraged this type of "leadership". They don't care if people are unhappy and even told our entire department this in a "motivational" meeting. Stay away from this company unless you enjoy being micromanged, documented and your career either destroyed or die a slow death.

Pros

-Paycheck -Benefits are still ok, although health insurance is expensive

Cons

-Shrinking or disappearing benefits like profit sharing and cash sharing -External candidates being favored for job openings -Some people got only 3% raises for promotions, while external candidates would be paid more -Arrogant senior management has no respect for employees -Senior management moved to LV, there's very little communication to non manager employees from "the top" -Peak Performers is propaganda and a joke. Take away benefits from 5000 employees and then give 50 employees and their SO's a nice getaway to a fancy resort - yeah, makes sense
