Pros

The benefits are top notch. Pension, 401k match, vacation/holidays are unmatched (I even get my birthday off). Base salary is competitive with other financial institutions (at least form an IT perspective), but bonuses are pretty much nonexistent. The hours are reasonable.

Cons

The day-to-day work is very unsatisfying. The entrepreneurial spirit/vision is missing from leadership (at least from a NY office perspective), which is very frustrating working in technology. The first priority from senior management is closing audit points, which is very important, but if as much energy was put into closing audits as much as servicing the business, daily activities could be more interesting. Project Management is always a challenge (unrealistic budgets/resources, politics)..... very cheap when trying to bring in help.

Pros

Good people, clear values, and friendly environment are all positive points at the bank.

Cons

By not reporting directly to Amsterdam and reporting to NY increases the bureucracy in all process inside the bank. Besides, some deals get blocked by the Americans.
