Good company if you are comfortable with change

Pros

One of few companies that still has a pension plan. Total compensation is competitive. Focused on improving processess and getting lean while maintaining a focus on the customer.

Cons

Reorganizations are frequent. Leadership is not in tune with the employee population. Performance evaluations are very subjective. The culture is one based on how much you are liked versus the competencies you bring to the job.

Pros

ING-Direct UK was a fun place to work. When something went wrong, everyone worked hard to resolve the problem. Some exceptionally gifted employees. Colleagues would also meet outside of work and there was a sense of togetherness.

Cons

Pay was very poor compared to the average salaries in the southern region. The majority of managers are not capable of doing their job - a clear case of the longer you stay there and brown nose, eventually you will make it to management.

Very dishonest company

Pros

Good pay, excellent benefits, free parking, nice cafeteria and gym onsite

Cons

Long hours; one person to do what 3-4 people did before collapse of the market; still poorly run; meetings upon meetings upon meetings where no one can or will make a decision; micromanaged at every level
