Cons

Everyones salary for the same position is different. I worked in SPEX aka Sponsorship & Exhibits Sales Executive role. They will make sure to low ball as much as possible. At the time I had 4+ years sales experience and the jerk manager I worked with, hired me for a astonishing $37,500 base salary with different things in my contract where if I sell a certain amount of sponsorship, it will go from $42,500 to $45k to $50k. If you arent entry level, I heard a colleague of mine had to show him a past paystub in order to get a higher base salary. I didn't do that, I would up getting fired (thankfully) after 2 months there for not producing. Con number 1....The extremely low salary didn't motivate me to want to advance the company, I felt like I was getting taken advantage of so I just let them subsidize me while I found a better job (which I did in the event services industry). They make you sign a non-compete form to not work in the industry for a year, but I didn't listen to that, and wound up getting a job in the industry with a $50k base to start. Shows you how much they value their employees. Con number 2...The manager I worked for who no longer is with them. I remember during freakin' training this guy treating me like a POS. He was arrogant, and just a bad human being. Worst training I ever experienced. Between the manager being straight up mean and the low base, the bathrooms where one of the stalls you can look right into, and there never being cups for the water dispenser that's in the office room as their is no break room, there is nothing good about this dumpy looking office or job.

Thank you for your feedback. At any company, salary is commensurate with experience and other factors, and in a sales role, incentive compensation in the forms of bonuses and commission is intended to be just that - incentive. Glad to hear the manager you had such a bad experience with is no longer employed by us, so that's one issue we can cross off the list! Hope your new position gives you what you're looking for, and we wish you the best of luck in the future.

Horrible base salary. MICROMANAGEMENT!! They time your phone calls, they count them, record them and make you torture yourself with the tapes. They call it training. THE WORST JOB!! Horrible environment.

We are sincerely sorry to hear that you did not have a good experience at IQPC. Throughout the interview and onboarding processes we are transparent about the opportunities for base salary increases and other bonuses based on performance. Additionally tape training is a widely practiced sales training technique to provide an accelerated means of phone skills, and is something numerous employees request in both 1:2:1 and interactive group tape training sessions. Seems like this role just wasn’t the right fit for you we apologize for not identifying that that would be the case upfront. We appreciate your feedback and will take measures to ensure to communication is more effective moving forward, and wish you the best of luck in your future roles.
