Pros

The people and management are genuinely great. A few bad eggs, as with everywhere, but on the whole the management care and the people are kind. As an events company, the socials are also good and plentiful. The work life balance is good in Marketing, and the pressure to meet targets wasn’t as bad as other reviews have made out (although I can’t speak for the DS/Spex teams who I imagine would be under more pressure). Despite being a large company, you had opportunities and flexibility to try new things, learn new skills and make the most of new opportunities.

Cons

Lack of progress for content, which is also the only team that doesn’t get profit share. Content is a small part of IQPC Exchange, it is an events company first and foremost, and the job can feel unrewarding as your work is based on downloads/conversions, which is difficult in a time where no one wants to fill in a form anymore to access content. It was hard to feel like I contributed anything to the events. The work can get mundane/feel pointless but that could be due to me disliking office work and WFH.

Pros

- Never a boring day, as you're working across multiple events, no two days will ever be the same - Extensive training - at my last job I wasn't really given any support so I really valued this, and the training/learning doesn't stop after a few months. We are constantly being trained on the latest new technologies, practices, etc. to ensure we're as efficient and effective as possible - Lots of opportunity for growth through marketing mentoring programmes, a women in business event (which also has a separate mentoring programme), and check-ins with your manager so that you can discuss what your goals are, and how they can help you achieve them, e.g. get a promotion, or create an entirely new role you think the company is missing out on - The chance to go abroad to help deliver on-site events - I just recently came back from an event in Amsterdam and it was really rewarding seeing all the hard work pay off -Genuinely just a nice place to work - I've been at IQPC for a year now and everyone is really nice, welcoming, and working together towards the same goals so collaboration across the company is really high -Bonus schemes and commission schemes so you can make more on top of your basic salary. -Company drinks at the end of every month where the MD will do a short speech on how the business is doing, and shout out any individuals who stood out for the month which is really nice in terms of feeling appreciated and not just another cog in the machine - you are recognised and appreciated for your work -Company plans, e.g. with MediCash an app that lets you claim money back on certain things like Dentist Appointments, Dental Injury, Prescriptions, etc.

Cons

- Very fast paced type of job - there is always something to be done, and constant deadlines to meet so it can be stressful depending on the type of person you are (although your manager is always there to listen and help you out if you feel it's getting overwhelming) - You can potentially make more money in other companies
