Pros

I started at IQPC Exchange in Delegate Sales after working in restaurants for a few years. I never thought I’d get into sales, but I was looking for a new opportunity. The corporate/office environment was a welcome change to the long hours and late nights I was used to. That being said, the transition wasn’t easy. Training is intense- but when I think back to my first day on the phones I realized how far I’d come. I will say no one is going to hold your hand, however, if you are looking to improve, the resources are available to those who seek them out. I spent countless hours with my manager and my coworkers doing tape training, practicing my pitch, crafting emails…. Etc. I learned so much in my first 6 months! In addition to the professional training, I also made a lot of friends- between happy hours, quarterly activities and people just getting together on weekends, I really expanded my professional network. Ultimately, I decided sales wasn’t for me, and moved into another role. That's not the case for everyone, however, as many of my former coworkers have moved into management roles very quickly. Bottom line, I wouldn’t be where I am today without the jump-start to my career that I received at IQPC Exchange. I recommend it to anyone who’s not afraid of a little hard work for a big reward in the long run.

Cons

-faced paced environment- need to be able to keep up! -office can be loud at times since everyone is on the phones, can be difficult to concentrate -communication between departments isn't always fluid

Pros

This was a great introduction into sales. Very minimal training and resources but my boss taught me a lot. Leadership here I think is good which makes up for the bad pay. I will say- in sponsorship there is money to be made. Legit money. On the delegate acquisition side, not so much.

Cons

Very poor pay. View this role as a learning experience and intro into sales. Rubbed me the wrong way when I gave my 2 weeks out of courtesy and they told me I had till Friday. While this is a good intro into sales, there is minimal sales support, resources for selling, and training.

Pros

Honestly nothing, truly awful company

Cons

You’re recruited based on your ability to sell a pen (cliche), then you’re shown very briefly how to use the CRM and given a script (no opportunity to be yourself or build rapport). You have to try to sell tickets to mediocre conferences with zero strategy just random cold calling, no training or development then you get verbally abused by managers if you don’t sell enough and told “you’re staying until you sell, no one goes home until you sell” KPIs are meaningless it feels like a factory and they try to engage you in “power hour” which is just doing the same job but standing up, worst job I ever had and worst management team, avoid.
