Pros

Easy commute, learned invaluable lessons from individual study team.

Cons

No management support nor professional growth development. Many direct line managers more interested in gossip rather than unbiased, balanced management. Department individuals who transfer departments often unqualified for new position and moved to be "someone else's problem" - direct manager quote. When assistance required for meeting critical study deadlines, it is rarely provided, if at all. Extreme bias in providing addiditional study support - consistently given to department individuals who have drinks with the manager. Specific department manager and director quick to make judgements based on heresay and not with all the individuals sides provided. No balanced assessments determined, They take the path of least resistance and do not stand up for their employees. Allows employees to be verbally abused when witnessed; "it's no big deal". No HR support.

Pros

It may provide a good opportunity for someone who is wanting to fast track to District Mgr., Regional Trainer, or Regional Director. Within the commercialization subsidiary in which I worked, sales reps with only 2 years experience, and it was acquired with position at Quintiles were promoted to Regional Trainer and District Manager. However, I believe they make hasty hiring decisions because of client expectations, leading to poor management. Eventually, these decisions led to several Regional directors and managers' termination for performance and/or breach of proprietary confidentiality agreements and fraud.

Cons

Poor leadership, who made decisions that were only workable in the short term, which was one reason for high turnover. Leadership was more concerned with the appearances of our company, and less about what the realities were in the field. Will terminate if you ask for medical leave in some cases. No women in upper management when I was employed. Management over promises potential. We were left in the dark on decisions made that would impact work.

Pros

Working remotely is great. Unlimited PTO is great as well. My direct line manager is amazing. He is very understanding and reasonable. He and my other colleagues make working at IQVIA worth it most of the time.

Cons

I have been very fortunate to have survived 2 rounds of lay offs during my tenure with IQVIA. The direction of the company is one of uncertainty. In the past two rounds of lay offs my colleagues lost their positions to off shoring. If you live in the United States it's not worth applying, your job will eventually be off shored if you are hired. Other managers appear cold. Working with managers that are unpersonable does not create a pleasant work environment. The best way to sum up most of the managers is they are fake; asking a few friendly questions, getting to the topic of conversation, that's all normal. The next time you speak with them it's like you're meeting for the first time, they do not remember you as a colleague. This will occur numerous times with different managers. The training provided is satisfactory, Communication appears open, the company speaks a lot about being transparent. However, that is not completely true in my opinion. My former colleagues have consistently reported otherwise as well. The CEO is very removed and a for lack of better words, clueless about operations. Health benefits are lacking. A company of this size could offer better benefits, IQVIA could also offer a better, or more, 401K options and match. The company is more about lining the stakeholders pockets than they are about caring for their employees.
