Pros

Friendly, helpful and supportive management and colleagues. Great Team atmosphere. Inciteful and inclusive of all employees, providing regular updates and team briefings, as well as communications throughout the business so everyone can keep up with what is going on. Opportunities to develop a career, learn new skills, and communicate ideas for business development.

Cons

Haven't come across anything that would be a con. The experience (so far) has been nothing but positive.

Pros

IRIS hires really talented people at all levels who are helpful, approachable and full of new ideas. This has created a really collaborative culture that keeps things interesting and creates endless opportunities to learn. The leadership team is also keen to make IRIS a great place to work and that shows through their willingness to listen to their employees, to revise the way things are done and continually improve. When you combine that with the HUGE portfolio of benefits, social committees, company wide charity days and recognition programmes to spare there really can be no doubt that employees matter.

Cons

IRIS is incredibly fast paced and super busy. It’s not for the faint hearted and it can be tough. Like many companies of this size there are also occasional communication hiccups (especially when working remotely) but it is a clear priority with initiatives popping up all the time like the All Brains sessions, Kick Off’s, a focus on 1:1’s, monthly site updates, newsletters and an easy to navigate intranet.

Pros

I was at IRIS for a number of years and experienced personal growth whilst there. Went through four different periods of CEO tenure which all were different so the senior leadership set the tone for culture each time. We modernized the business a lot which felt like a traditional old fashioned finance company rather than a modern software company, for example no support metric or ProServ utilization/realization at the beginning so in that respect rolling out a professional structure was good. This also coincided with a push into cloud through acquisition which was also the right thing to do. So we had a good few years of happiness and success and a period of staff stability and satisfaction. As with most places, the troops in the trenches are the best thing, some really good committed, hard working people. So depending on area, you can do well in this company.

Cons

We started to struggle to maintain ageing software based on old code and a customer base that started to feel taken for granted with questionable behavior such as above average customer price increases (10%) into a user base that knew changing on prem software is difficult, painful and costly in a industry where time is billable. Staff also started to become more disgruntled with bonuses cut, pay increases frozen and objectives harder/unreachable, this was seen as a cost saving exercise. We also saw three quick changes of CEO, clearly mistakes which formerly disrupted a successful business and latterly introduced an unwelcome bullying culture that saw the departure voluntarily of many key experienced staff.
