Thanks very much for your feedback, although we are surprised and disappointed by your comments. We are very proud of our excellent payroll bureau and the award-winning managed payroll service we provide to our customers. We regularly sponsor CIPP Payroll Certification qualifications and accreditation for our bureau employees to ensure they are fully trained in the latest payroll practices, and we have recently put a dedicated bureau career track with associated salary bandings in place to make sure all our payroll employees are highly knowledgeable and able to progress within the organisation. We'd be more than happy to discuss your concerns in more detail - please reach out to our Chief People Officer in complete confidence, or email EmployeeFeedback@iris.co.uk so that we can help. We are really sorry this role did not work out for you, and we wish you all the very best in your future career. Kind regards, the HR team

Pros

Great colleagues and office space. Team leads and lower management are making great improvements. The office culture has improved significantly in my time. Opportunities for innovation are increasing and there is dedicated time for learning and applying new tech. Challenging tasks are always present for the determined.

Cons

Salaries. This is clearly a budget allocation issue from the higher levels, as achievement is recognised by lower management but often with a shrug as to what will happen in regards to recognition. We've struggled to retain good staff due to difficulties in cultural transitions and engineering expectations from other departments, as the sales team have dominated this tech company. IRIS does tend to feel like an acquisitions firm, rather than a cohesive structure but within the smaller settings such as the Leeds office, many are open and friendly.

Thanks so much for your review! We’re really glad you can see all the fantastic changes and initiatives we're running to ensure that IRIS is a Great Place to Work. Our annual salary review process is based on the foundation of treating employees fairly, and we included industry-wide salary benchmarking for all employees as part of our 2019 process for the first time. We have also put in place published salary bandings across relevant departments to ensure our pay practices are competitive and it’s clear for employees how they can progress within the organisation. We also offer a fantastic flexible benefits package, including bonuses (where applicable), our IMPACT Awards, free private healthcare, life insurance, income protection, 26 days annual holiday, 3 Giving Back Days and a host of other benefits to ensure our employees are well-looked after. We’re also passionate about all of our employees feeling part of #1IRIS, running monthly update sessions in each office, a regular employee newsletter and our IRIS mission, vision and values to unify everyone within the IRIS family. We really appreciate your feedback - if you have any additional comments or suggestions, please reach out to the HR team or contact EmployeeFeedback@iris.co.uk. Kind regards, the HR team
