Pros

It used to be a good place to work but now it seems that Manchester employees are being asked to write fake reviews giving 5 stars to a rubbish team The software sells without real improvement and still better than anything else out there so hopefully an intelligent future CEO will know how to fix and bring it back on track.

Cons

Sales are like anyofher company and we work hard to take it away from the 3rd class competition. The CEO came with impressive experience but I saw him talk to a group of managers which made me realise why no one respects him. Just a rude and petty micromanager. The division ceos are basically 2nd choices and good at sales but not all rounders. Cfo is inexperienced and does whatever the ceo wants apparently. Chief people office still around after poor performance. One wonders. And the ceo continues to bring people from his past job and destryibg the fabric of iris. Everybody claims to be his mate from the last job. Very demotivating for the staff working hard for years and not getting recognition. Hoping either this will soon pass or I will get to join a better company in Manchester or Liverpool

Pros

Iris is a good place to work, especially for graduates to get sales experience (definitely more in the accountancy division than the SME division). There is good progression if you're prepared to fight for it, but they really make you fight for it - a lot of promotions come from people handing their notice in.

Cons

It's pretty dog eat dog (as in most sales jobs) - we have clear jurisdictions for our areas but if there are any debates over deals being in your area you can expect to fight to the death with the other person, rather than have your managers independently verify the account (at least not properly). A lot of promotions come from people handing their notice in. There's a growing frustration that graduates are exploited due to their lack of experience, rather than proactively promoting them based on their performance and skills they have developed. People shouldn't be driven to the point of leaving - we can easily get more money elsewhere!

- The team itself is lovely, all went out together after work. - Got commission.

Cons

- Treated like a child. - Felt like just a number. - Poor communication. - Too much micromanaging. - Very Reactive rather than pro-active. - Only Start to get listened to when you want to leave.
