Business Outlook

Pros

- People are really friendly and the company is very inclusive (a lot more female developers and QA than other companies for example) - Easy to progress - Good opportunities to grow and learn - Can have a modern tech stack in some products - Great work/life balance - Remote work and very flexible

Cons

- Very heavy on the hierarchy, sometimes it feels like there are too many managers - Product indecision and lack of direction at times - Promotions take a long time to take effect, especially if you miss the period

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We’re delighted that you recognise the fantastic people at IRIS who are celebrated for bringing their true selves to work. We’re truly proud to create an inclusive working environment, our Belonging Group holds monthly calls to focus on specific topics, share ideas and experiences and provide networking opportunities. We’re also particularly proud to promote and encourage more women into tech, with 46.5% of the IRIS population being women, and support their development. We are constantly reviewing our processes between Engineering and Product. From our Great Place to Work survey, our Engineering and Product Heads of Function have listened to our employees feedback and are looking to consolidate and review this to ensure the communication stream is as effective as possible. We have now set up an Engineering Newsletter where we will share higher level Product celebrations across the whole department which should also impact the communication aspect within the department. In the last 4 months, we were also delighted to celebrate 5 promotions and role changes across the Software Production function. In the last 12 months, we’ve run an extensive range of free training courses attended by 1,280 employees, supported 170 ambitious employees through our annual High Potential programme, and enrolled 64 staff in apprenticeships. We’re excited to stream a global Company Update each month on Teams Live, hosted by our Executive team and senior leaders, to connect with all our employees across the globe. These updates contain company-wide news, our recent achievement, future goals, and upcoming events. We also encourage managers to hold regular conversations with their team on personal and wider-company objectives, as well as taking an interest in pursuing developmental activities. One of our key goals is to build #1RIS, where we all come together to welcome, support, and motivate each other, championing a diverse and equitable community.
