Pros

They are pretending to hire outsiders through Direct Hire Authority. But the leadership want to churn them for their own benefit and learning! They will do all kind of incredible sweet talk to get you in.

Cons

The Large Biz and International (LB&I) division will chew you and spit you. Burn you with too much work. Toxic leadership in senior management.

Pros

Benefits are very good. Paid Personal & Sick Leave can be very helpful if managed.

Cons

Official Training, as experienced, is... awful. I don't use that word lightly. This does not mean you cannot do well. It means that often, your real training & understanding of how to successfully perform your duties will come from some combination of active networking with co-workers willing to assist, effective note-taking, successfully grooming an Advisor/Mentor and... Pure Luck. After a year, I've yet to personally experience or hear of ANY co-worker's personal experience of official training that was not some combination of awful, bad, complete waste of time, ineffective, confusing or simply did not prepare for or apply to, the subject matter being trained on. How consistently & universally bad the Training has been in nearly everyone's experience is surreal.

Cons

Low pay Uncoordinated environment Volatile and hostile management Unsanitary (feces and trash, sick people in close proximity to each other, foul conditions) No upward mobility Massive problem with sexual harassment and management doing nothing about it or reporting it Aggressive and retaliatory staff (physical fights were common)
