      Illumio is a great company to work for, and now is a great time to be here

      Pros

      * The growth potential is huge as the company has established a solid foothold in the evergreen security market. * Illumio is not too small to be fragile and hectic and not too large to be slow and sleepy. This goldilocks zone is perfect for building your career while keeping your sanity. * Exceptional awareness to work/life balance, driven by a well-managed release process. * People are happy to help and have plenty of patience for newbies. * The company is growing fast and this involves some growing pains; that’s normal and expected.

      Cons

      * The company is relatively small, so lateral movement opportunities are limited.

      Having worked for organizations that are %E2%80%9Csmall, fragile, hectic%E2%80%9D and ones that are %E2%80%9Cbig, slow, sleepy,%E2%80%9D I agree that Illumio is in that sweet spot. There are times when we ask our employees to dive in but there are also times where we prioritize stamina. After all, we%E2%80%99re here for the long-game and we recognize that our team is the reason that we%E2%80%99re here in the first place. Your peace of mind is important%E2%80%94but also your enduring enthusiasm and determination. It%E2%80%99s what Illumio is fueled on.       Bad company culture

      Pros

      Worked with some very good people as part of the SE team. My manager was very good and always there when needed. Product is as advertised.

      Cons

      Product for the enterprise. Lacking mid market features. Product direction controlled by a handful of people with zero input from field. Exec's not listening to the field or people below them. Channel and marketing teams stretchered beyond limits. Roadmap nonexistent more tactical then strategic.

      I appreciate the time taken to provide this candid review. Over the last six years, we have been laser-focused on building a product that is now time-tested.. As we continue to grow, we will look for opportunities to enter new markets - you will see this happen, but this change does not happen overnight, nor does it happen in a vacuum. You mentioned the channel and marketing teams were stretched thin, and I%E2%80%99m sure you%E2%80%99ll be pleased to know that since you wrote your review, we%E2%80%99ve expanded those teams significantly and we%E2%80%99re investing heavily in headcount to keep up with growing demand from the organization. The company as a whole is focusing inward and committed to listening to all employees, in all locations, and across all levels, so we can continue to move forward together.

      Overfunded and mismanaged

      Pros

      Some people are trying to fix things.

      Cons

      No one is listening to them. The company is utterly mismanaged and has raised so much VC funding that they are being held to revenue expectations which will never happen, Meanwhile, the CEO is staying in 5 star hotels and burning cash like there's no tomorrow. E-Staff is too arrogant to hear the problems which employees voice, so they kill every messenger.
