Pros

The work from home environment. Ok benefits.

Cons

If you’re considering joining the sales team: -High turnover with sales. CRO left in 2023, he took high-performing Management and sales with him to new company. Poor work-life balance. Lacks diversity. -Territory mismanagement. Current sales leadership is weak and incompetent, they are basically admins for tracking high activity and KPI’s with no leadership skills only high-pressure micro management and toxic work environment - They have been selling the dream of IPO coming for years that is highly unlikely to happen in the next 10 years. Poor onboarding and HR. Poor Channel program and lacks multi-cloud solution. Marketing is non-existent. Very few sales reps hit their unrealistic quota and acquire OTE.

Thanks for sharing your feedback during your time here at Illumio. If you're keeping up with our news, we've recently welcomed both John Lens as our new Chief Revenue Officer and Todd Palmer as our SVP Global Partner Sales and Alliances, both of whom come with a deep background in world-class companies known for high performing go to market organizations with strong and inclusive cultures. We're excited for the product innovations that Mario and his Product team are bringing to market (watch this space!), as well as for the work Gautam and our Marketing team are doing to share the successes that our current customers are having in realizing a future without high-profile breaches. We're focused squarely on our customers' success and on building the very best company we can, confident that with our eyes on that horizon, the future is bright here! Thanks, David

Pros

Pay is good CRO was the best, so loyal and smart

Cons

Management spin cycle, CRO was the reason to be here. Kept is real, all around smart and good guy, and he kept CEO in check. I’m terrified and fearful now that he’s going

Pros

I've been in Silicon Valley startups for close to thirty years. Illumio is a very special place. The company is well over 300 people, but the engineering culture has remained open, and collaborative. From my experience, the senior engineering staff are approachable and friendly. I can (and do) stop people and ask them about details of their design at any point. Engineering ideas are evaluated, by and large, based on merit (and best practices). There is plenty of innovation that happens everyday at Illumio. I enjoy coming to work, contributing to a great product, and working with a good team. Is the company perfect in every way? It is not. However, it is still one of the best places I have worked. The company is successful both technically, and commercially.

Cons

Illumio cannot be run like a small startup any more (mostly due to our success). There are growing pains associated with this shift in company strategy. Some new leadership has been brought in to help take Illumio to the next level. They have restructured their organization as they saw fit. From a personal perspective it's hard to see people you've worked with for years leave the company (for any reason). However, this happens at every company, regardless of size or success.

It’s great to see a balanced review from someone who’s been with us for so long. You’ve certainly seen the company grow a lot and I'm reassured to hear that the culture has remained open and collaborative from your perspective. I also appreciate that you see the changes, sometimes difficult to make, as what they are—necessary steps to ensure that our customers and employees remain successful and secure for decades to come. It is a journey that most successful companies make and thanks for being with all of us on ours.
