Cautionary tale from a former employee

Pros

Some great colleagues, good health insurance, remote work environment

Cons

As a former employee at Included Health, I can confidently say that the company has devolved into a shadow of its former self. What was once a promising workplace with values to uphold has now become a breeding ground for toxicity and unethical behavior. The leadership at Included Health has taken a nosedive, abandoning the very values they once touted. Prioritizing a healthy work-life balance is a mere facade, as employees are expected to sacrifice personal time with family and loved ones. Mental health issues among staff are rampant due to the toxic work environment, with numerous individuals needing to take a leave of absence for these issues. Layoffs have become an annual ritual, only for the same roles to be rehired within a matter of months. This cycle of instability not only erodes job security but also contributes to a pervasive atmosphere of fear and uncertainty. The notion of work-life balance is laughable, as employees are expected to prioritize work above all else, even at the expense of their well-being and relationships. Furthermore, the concept of equitable pay across job functions is practically nonexistent. Those who sacrifice their ethics and personal lives are the ones who seemingly get ahead, while others are left to languish in a system that rewards exploitation and disregard for basic human needs. Additionally, it's evident that Included Health has strayed from its purported commitment to putting members and clients first. Instead of prioritizing the well-being and satisfaction of those it serves, the company's sole focus now seems to be on growing accounts and maximizing the bottom line. All of this to say, I strongly advise against considering Included Health as a viable employment option. The company's descent into a toxic, unethical environment devoid of work-life balance and job security is a cautionary tale for anyone seeking a fulfilling career.

Pros

No real pros, they preach a lot of great things but don’t actually follow through

Cons

Very inexperienced, lazy leadership. Little to no use of data to inform decisions, little care for the product or team. I went through a health crisis, wasn’t given sick leave, and then was penalized and threatened for it. They reorganize teams about once every year or so for no apparent reason and then expect you to create a roadmap for your new team whose identity is broken and probably shouldn’t even exist because there is no clarity of what you even own.
