      Pros

      -CEO is fantastic -People are really smart -Mission is compelling, it feels good to come to work everyday -Lots of motivated, hard working people -Work is interesting, this industry is just waiting for disruption -We are truly a patient first organization

      Cons

      -Growing pains- We are growing very fast. Need more process/structure. -Some of the leaders who were hired very early on are in roles that they are not qualified to do/ have minimal experience doing. This shows.

      Best company I have ever worked for (and possibly ever will work for)

      Pros

      - Get to work on challenging problems to improve people's lives - Get to work with people who are incredibly talented at what they do - Fast-paced decision making when the answer makes sense - Company really cares about hiring and empowering good managers - jerks are weeded out - Employees are treated like family and friends by senior leadership - Extremely receptive to feedback, very focused on maintaining a great culture and team - Tons of cross-company collaboration (managers / directors switching functions is fairly common)

      Cons

      - Some teams are working really hard, but as a whole, it seems like most people go home relatively early for a startup. I have never heard of a company changing the world with all their employees working 9-5 hours - Seems like senior management is very focused on short-term success - sales, profitability, etc. Company level goals set at the annual level, unclear vision for 5-10 years down the line

      Thanks for the feedback! Big problems tackled by a top notch team -- can't beat it. I really appreciate your concern regarding our 9-5ing as the problems we aim to solve are indeed BIG. Do know that we work hard to create conditions where folks can do their hard work where and when most conducive. I also really appreciate your comment regarding our long-term vision -- would love your thoughts on our recent co-wide meeting, and what more we can be doing to paint this picture for you and the broader team.

      Great company but room for improvement

      Pros

      Good culture, smart people, challenging work, a mission that motivates you every day, amazing benefits, and of course the snacks

      Cons

      Lots of people struggle with a lack of opportunities for career development and growth. This is partly the fact that it's a startup, but also a lack on the part of management to prioritize it. Compensation could be better for employees, especially technical. Company was built by (Stanford) MBA's so it feels like problems are approached from a B school mind set rather than one of a technology company, at least compared to past places I've worked.

      Thanks for the feedback! I'm glad you are enjoying challenging, motivating work in what you deem a positive culture. And I'm sure you are no small part of that. Re: career development/growth, I'll be looking for your thoughts (swing by anytime!) as we roll out the engagement survey initiatives these next couple of months. Consider also helping us think about infusing not only more tech thinking, but also that from less obvious domains. E.g., as we redesign health care experiences, what might we learn from artists? If creating a forum for this dialogue to occur intrigues you, let's chat.
