My supervisor's supervisor was extremely challenging to work with. She would berate anyone who was not a nurse (frequently telling me in front of doctors to sit down and shut up. She closely monitored my computer use, telling me that I could not access the internet from my work computer, at the same time stating that it didn't matter if the nurses did. I was once accused of searching on a coworker's computer for jobs in Florida. I simply told her that if I was looking for a job in Florida I would use my HOME computer, not one at work and if I were looking for another job, it would be in the Indiana city where my daughter and grandsons lived. My coworkers really liked me and I believe part of her problem was that they just tolerated her. There was also the fact that I was more of a "computer person" than she was, I even had to show her to write an email and add an attachment! I am sorry that I no longer work with that company but relieved that she is no longer part of my life. I frankly wonder how she ever got to be a nurse; she is not a people person, except being a supervisor.
I was told that my immediate supervisor in that department (not the one that fired me) was asked to leave the department but was offered another position within the hospital.
