Pros

Management lets you know you are valued. You feel as if you really do make a difference in patient's lives. Great benefits, flexibility for family.

Cons

No set policy on employee production levels. There are no reprimands or fear of losing your job if you are doing it incorrectly and adversely affecting other areas of business or patient safety.

Pros

Very nice place to work. Indianapolis is a nice city, and good place to raise a family. The amount of collegiality is quite good.

Cons

Salaries are low in comparison to other institutions. IUSM is a very conservative place. There tends to be tremendous bureacracy in place.

Pros

Awesome director. One of the best anyone could possibly ask for. Also one of the few left standing after all the firings of management staff. Very good colleagues. It was once a great place to work when it was just La Porte Regional Healthcare and Thor Thordesson was not CEO.

Cons

Administrative team - The CEO's "uncommon leader" vision has done nothing but decrease employee morale by terminating employees who've been very dedicated to the organization for many years. It has created an environment of fear as many people at all levels are worried about job security. Many departments are short staffed the administrative team is telling all employees to cut operational expenses yet somehow they found the money to have 11 vice presidents in an organization with less than 2000 employees. There is very high turnover rate at the hospital. Nepotism - People get promoted by who they are related to and their political ties and not their job performance.
