      Excellent Research Environment but BEWARE the "Benefits"

      Pros

      So many opportunities to collabrate with world-class researchers, and access to rich data through Regenstrief Institute particularly.

      Cons

      Purchasing health insurance for spouses and/or dependents is utterly unaffordable. When I last checked, it was >$800/month to insure my spouse and >$600/month to insure my child.

      Working with ASP is a great student experience

      Pros

      I worked with the African Studies Program as an undergraduate student. The ASP office is full of kind, hard-working, resourceful professionals who make the work enjoyable.

      Cons

      No downsides, generally. I had the job during COVID, so the only con was not being able to work with other ASP faculty and staff in person.
