Pros
Seeing some of the negative reviews on here almost break my heart! After 4-5 years of searching for a good fit in the tech industry - I was depleted and DONE! I took a risk in joining IRE because of a few familiar faces who I had experience with in the past. My time here has been fantastic. If for nothing else - I attribute it to the people. I work with people who care, connect, and create. I've heard conversations in many departments about how "person x" may not be finding success, so instead of firing or releasing them - they re-align them into different roles. It's nice to work with folks who see the value of people and realize the people are their biggest asset! Has it been perfect? No. Since being hired, have things changed? Yes, some good, some not so much. Has management had to make tough decisions around headcount? Yes. Have we had to knuckle up and give a little more, do a little different? Sure. Is pay/comp the highest in the industry? No...nor is it the lowest. I've been in tech for 15 years and in real estate for 10...here is my response to so many of the negative reviews: "Welcome to Tech"... "Welcome to post Covid Tech".... "Welcome to post Covid Tech actively embracing AI"... "Welcome to post Covid Tech actively embracing AI and CONSTANTLY pushing innovation"... "Welcome to Real Estate tech." This is a remarkably challenging industry and incredibly vulnerable to 'market conditions'....residential real estate. interest rates, inventory....I've not seen a tech industry that is as vulnerable. We ride that roller coaster just as realtors and home owners do. Leadership does a fantastic job at trying to create scalable growth models in an inconsistent environment. They may not always get it right, but it is consistently communicated. Some folks may not like the results - but it doesn't mean the effort isn't there. This company is HIGHLY focused on innovation both in our product offerings and in how we innovate internally. I've never seen a more focused and committed effort from the top down. The risk that comes with such a commitment is high stakes! Tech and innovation moves at the speed of light with AI actively in our hands! What previously took a company 6 months to learn, test and adopt can be experienced in 6 days. So it means change. It means unknown. It means uncertain. It also means cutting edge. It means next level. It means you have hands on access to developing what a product AND what the professional work environment of the future looks like. The rewards outweigh the risks - tenfold! My advice: Know what you are getting into! Tech + Real Estate + Professional Innovators is a whole different environment than simply 'working in tech'. Ask the right questions in your interviews. Make sure YOU are the person who is equipped for THIS ride!
Cons
Ok ok - it may seem like I drink the Kool-Aid here, but there are some cons. 1. Please god - get me off of this PC computer and platform! I need a Mac! 2. Pay alignment, The pay and compensation tiers are well thought out and they do exist. I think there are some growing pains around how to hire outside talent into those tiers. 3. Transitioning from onboarding to on a team an in a seat is a little rough. Some structure around that will help folks stay connected.
