Pros

Overall it’s a good place to work. Good core set of people and if you build the right relationships in the sales team and show you can add value to customers you’ll get the opportunity to work on some interesting projects (if you are someone that wants to push yourself/develop this is key). Company is trying to reinvent itself as a services business, which is showing some promising signs but has some way to go. Used to be freedom to do a lot of training and autonomy to go and attend tech conferences/meet-ups which are related to your role without having to jump through loads of hoops. (I’ve seen a worrying decline in this recently however...) Benefits are decent, better than average pension (for the private sector) and some of the other usual bits.

Cons

Low pay for the role, size of projects worked on etc. Too many middle management and ‘company line towers’ that are great at talking the talk but aren’t so great at delivering results, i’ve also never worked at an organisation with such a lack of ownership, I find myself laughing on a daily basis at displays of people ‘passing the buck’ or displaying teflon like shoulders. The development plans and learning plans are just writing on the wall/induction pack - they don’t actually exist. Goals are half-heartedly set every quarter but are the same blanket goals set across teams?! Direction from line management is non-existent, by far the worst i’ve ever experienced. The amount of managers i’ve had in a short period of time is scary. If you can talk the corporate management crap and cosy up to the right middle management, you’ll likely do well here, regardless of whether you actually deliver results - this is rife in the organisation. The Nepotism on show in the recent reorganisation was shockingly obvious and actually had a significant impact on how I view the company.

Pros

None that i can think of...

Cons

Its a manpower use and throw organization, no values, no ethics and no career advancement opportunities, they use you as long as client pays them and they let you go when their clients cut the budgets, its a silent Mafia, Never ever work for them.

We are sorry to hear that your experience at Insight wasn't a positive one. The values of Hunger, Heart, and Harmony are actually extremely important to not only the company but to all Insight employees. These values aren't just written on the walls, but they are rather instilled throughout the employees as they are recognized on a daily basis for demonstrating one of the core values through Insight's recognition program. There are also numerous job opportunities for internal employees who are interested in starting a new career path or are wanting to take a position within a new department. All of the positions are listed within Insight's employee intranet page as well as many external opportunities for those wanting to start a career at Insight.
