Pros

I've worked for Insight for 3 months now. I've really enjoyed it. Everyone is nice, but driven. They try hard to take care of their employees. I frequently hear about people changing positions because they wanted to learn something new or thought the position aligned better with their goals. They also seem to promote from within. For this position, they use a project management system which helps the projects run smoothly. Manager schedules one on ones twice per month so you always have a chance to discuss any issues, best practices, and goals.

Cons

For this position, it currently seems to be mainly task work. The strategy is already delivered to you via a campaign specialist. However, Insight is trying to shift the strategy to the digital marketing specialist so time will tell. Although the title says digital specialist, you are mainly an email and landing page specialist. This is because there is a paid media team, a social media team, a web team, and an SEO team. Their position titles are a little weird as there are so many different marketing specialists and marketing managers. This makes it hard to tell who does what.

Pros

Great work and diversity. Teammates are great as a whole. Once the bad eggs are rid of.

Cons

Extremely low salary. Compensation is for those they can have as the face of the team and not as for their knowledge or work.

Pros

• Co-workers are hard-working, kind and intelligent • Company conducts yearly surveys to gauge employee satisfaction and is receptive and responsive to the results • Paid days off to volunteer in the community • Option to “purchase” additional vacation time • Some flexibility in work schedule and opportunity to work from home occasionally for some roles I really liked working here when I first started. My co-workers made me feel very welcome and I’ve always been able to get the help I needed when I’ve reached out for it. I don’t think my discontent with my individual role should reflect badly on the company as a whole.

Cons

• Responsibilities are not clearly defined, which leads to a lack of accountability • Poor marketing strategy and execution due to constantly shifting priorities • Inability to follow-through on strategies due to inability to prioritize • Upper management frequently lacks understanding of the roles of individual contributors • Lack of tools and technology necessary to ensure visibility into performance data • Ambiguous or statistically impossible goals and expectations • Poor leadership and direction in marketing solution areas, training sales • High turnover • Poor health benefits — you can choose between a high deductible plan and a higher deductible plan • In trying to simplify how to use health benefits, the company it significantly more confusing • Few opportunities for promotion — the company tends to title down I believe many of these problems could be solved if leadership committed to a clear strategy, stopped trying to appease everyone, and learned to say “no” to projects that are ancillary to that direction.
