Avoid at all costs

Pros

The prospects you're talking to

Cons

There are too many to count. Leadership is verbally abusive. They make fake promises during the interview process. They don't allow you to take PTO. They micro-manage you at all times. Bad leadership. Abusive workplace environment. Avoid at all costs.

Hi, we're sorry we didn't meet your expectations here and appreciate the feedback. As it is with many startups' journeys, it's hard to predict the future precisely, and no one expected COVID. To face those headwinds was difficult for all of us. We've all learned a lot and have taken strides to support the teams as we work remotely and grow the business. Thanks again for sharing your feedback and wish you well.

Pros

Catered lunch 1x/week. Laptops. Co-workers are great.

Cons

Leadership really has no idea what being a leader means. Managers (and higher-ups) are not supportive, communicative, or there for your development unless you are one of their favorites. Lots of bullying and manipulation. Never felt like I was valued. Miserable work environment having to deal with the shadiness, lack of equality, and harassment.

Thanks for taking the time to leave this review. I'm sorry that you didn't have a good experience during your time here. You joined while we were growing very rapidly, and constant change and evolving policies came with that growth. Like many companies, COVID greatly affected us and we had to make unpopular decisions to part ways with colleagues in order to stay solvent as a company. We try to overcommunicate as much as we can to help team members understand why difficult decisions need to be made even if they were unpopular. We've all learned a lot since COVID and have taken your feedback seriously. We're very focused on building sustainable growth and have in the last few months made some great strides to encourage work/life balance across all teams. Thanks again for taking the time to leave this review and we wish you the best in your career."

Pros

Knowledge in the hospitality industry, work closely with sales team.

Cons

I am so disappointed on how Instawork treated there employees, but it didn't happen overnight. I had been working at Instawork for close to a year now. At first joining Instawork, there is a lot of exciting stuff taking place, the product is constantly changing in a good way and everyone is excited. After the first two months I could see the true company and its values. I would come out of working days crying for the way they treated me. Leadership roles would tell me I wasn't good enough. I knew this wasn't okay, they would tell our sales team that they we aren't good and we can walk out of this company if we want to. Having a culture like that created in sales is a horrible situation to be in. I was scared of communicating with them and would try to avoid them as much as possible. They would ask you to stay way past 8 hours and to come in on weekends, if you didn't agree you were automatically associated as someone who didn't care. Favorites were displayed fast which is common in companies, but not all of them were top performers but being treated the best. At the end the leadership team felt like an empire where they would stop telling us what was happening in the company until they had to. The quota requirements month to month had no data in the past to confirm that was the norm. I would never recommend my friend to join this company.
