Management was supportive and helpful.

This was during the beginning of the pandemic so the callers were experiencing higher than normal levels of anxiety and loneliness so it was often stressful.

Pros

Working for an aging population that is in desperate need of help. 1 or 2 good colleagues.

Cons

Management from VP Controller to CFO are more concerned with who has lunch with who. Prioritize social interactions rather than work. Poor leadership, micromanagement at its finest.

Pros

Working at IOA has been fulfilling. You definitely won't be bored as there's always plenty to do which keeps things interesting. It’s a place where your work really feels like it matters, especially knowing you’re contributing to a meaningful mission in enriching the lives of the aging. Support is there when you need it, and there’s a strong sense of collaboration across teams. Just a heads-up—IOA has 28 different programs, and one of the biggest is the in-home care (home care aides). Reviews can be super different depending on the role. What someone says about working in home care might not reflect what it’s like in a case manager or corporate position, so keep that in mind when you’re reading through.

Cons

It’s fast-paced and can be demanding at times, but if you like variety and care about the work you’re doing, it’s a great place to grow.
