Pros

- Smart colleagues - Somewhat competitive salary - Flexible working hours - Health insurance (Medicare) - Good office space / equipment - Office lunch

Cons

- Hire C# developers, then decide it's a Java company - Hire Java developers, then decide it's a Javascript company - Oncall is not paid for, which is extremely unfair at the very least. Some teams have no oncall, some teams you're on rotation every 3 weeks with constant issues Since KKR acquired the company: - Announce extra vacation time for Hungarian employees, then go back on it 2 weeks later - Loss of RSU package, replaced with a system that's worse in every aspect, we can't even guess how much it's going to be worth and it's only paid out if you stay with the company for 3-5+ years when KKR decides to sell the company and even then, they have no legal obligation to pay it out as it's not an RSU or a stock option - Wellness benefits essentially halved in Hungary, calling it "regional price adjustment" - Low pay raise - Hire 100 new people, then let go of 60, all in the span of 6 months - Back to office policy on whim (2-3 days per week), despite not even having enough office tables + chairs and the fact that most people are doing overtime in the late evening to have more overlap with the US collegues

Pros

- hired engineers are top 10% - engineers gets quite much freedom on technical things - salary was above average (not anymore)

Cons

- weak and most of the times incompetent leadership. Cronyism = friends hire other friends to C level - hire 100+ engineers in Q1 then layoff 60 in Q4 (not in same teams) - built a Ruby + Java based tech stack over years, hired ppl accordingly. Than decide to be a JS company - crunch time is heavy due to EU/US timezone diffs
