Pros

Very laid back atmosphere with free drinks, popcorn, and casual dress. My co-workers were always very helpful, willing to answer my questions and help me get my work done. I was easily able to get along with people on my team due to similar interests.

Cons

I was brought on board to help with a specific project, but I was full-time and it was meant to be a permanent position. However, about half-way into my time there, the old CEO retired and a new CEO was brought on board. I should have considered this a warning. I was never given any formal training. I was told I would have a mentor, but the mentor assigned to me almost never knew about the areas I was assigned to work in, and I was given assignments almost immediately, so I didn't even have time to read any documentation, leading to frequent questions to my co-workers to figure out what I was supposed to be doing. Their tech stack is outdated and hideous, and most software engineers there didn't seem to know much beyond the proprietary drag-and-drop interface that they use.

Pros

None that I can think of.

Cons

1. The company boasts of unlimited PTO. But in reality this is not true- Your performance is measured against the productive hours and the company requires you to have a minimum of 80% productive hours. Company town halls, sick leave, planned time off are all counted as non productive hours. This basically means you can’t take a break from work. 2. Management only cares about timesheet that needs to be filled on a daily basis. They give more importance to that than the work itself. 3. Salary not competitive. 4. Lot of micromanagement with no clear vision for the future. 5. No Growth. 6. No work life balance 7. Lack of professionalism.

Pros

Supplemental benefits like unlimited PTO, decent medical, accepting of all cultures and lifestyles.

Cons

Significantly below market pay scale, work life balance is a joke unless you push back HARD, 401(k) match lower than average (but going up to 4% in 2023, yes, up), near constant direction shifts, significant brain drain with senior experience people leaving on a regular basis.
