Pros

This will take a lot of digging since I couldn't think of anything positive about the company

Cons

Executive culture is Byzantine with firewalls within each business unit; the Analog and Power Division missed all product launch milestones and market windows due to incompetent project and design management. Previous claims about design leadership in wireless power are all in the gutter due to post-launch product flaws. There has been already an exodus of senior level sales, marketing and applications personnel since December 2013 that is a clear indication of a sinking ship.

Pros

IDT's traditional business areas are healthy and doing extremely well, especially for its size.

Cons

This review is intended for the OID division, which was formed by acquiring GigPeak/GigOptix. The optical business depends highly on China, and with the recent slow-down the business is not doing well. The design team works on many designs, but there are not enough resources to support all of them. There is no cooperation and support between teams. On top of that, the designs are years behind their competitors, so they can only compete in price which is never a good place to be. The management lacks respect for engineering, and there was essentially no communication, forecast, and planning from the management. This results in every single product and project becoming last-minute emergencies when a customer decides to buy one (if ever), and everything becomes priority. The employees work very hard to make things happen, but this being repeated time after time have resulted in extremely low morale and frequent turn-overs. If you enjoy hard work without recognition, this place is for you.

Marketing Intern

Pros

As a highly creative person, I never thought I would see the day where I had an internship where I sat at a cubicle all day. However, the marketing internship I had with IDT was such a great experience. I was able to interact with freely with the head of the department and my ideas were listened too, as a college student! It was a truly great experience!

Cons

I really have no cons! I just wish I was able to meet more people during the short time I was there.
