Pros

Working with the clientele is very rewarding when teaching them how to become independent and they can apply it to their everyday lives

Cons

Management of this company is practically non existent and they hire people that have no clue what they are doing. There is also slot of favortism within the company.

Pros

The people you care for are like family

Cons

Mistreatment by the individuals towards the staff, lots of verbal abuse and sometimes physical abuse by the individuals. Most of the time individuals have no consequence's when a staff is targeted and assaulted. Higher management ignores concerns from the residential managers (when they have residential managers) and DSP's, or higher management holds off on fixing a situation until it gets drastically out of hand. You're told one week that something should be done a certain way and the next week your told that's it should be done another way. Lazy staff get away with everything, and responsible staff are asked why they didn't pick up the slack from the lazy staff. There was a survey done about a year ago asking staff how we feel about are work environment. The higher management where met with scathing response's. Everyone was upset about how they where being treated and how their compensation was not enough for what we go through on the daily. In response the higher management said that all of the staff are the problem and they shouldn't be upset with their working conditions. There is a high turnover rate and a lack of new hires (That normally last on average one month to one year). I could go on and on and write a book.
